Human Rights Council Resolution on the Right to Education

The Portugal-led “Right to Education” resolution was successfully adopted by consensus at the 59th session of the Human Rights Council. This resolution, which has over 70 co-sponsorships, aims to reaffirm the right to inclusive, equitable and quality education, at all levels, without discrimination of any kind. It reinforces the importance of greater financial investment in education and the protection of access to education in conflict and emergency situations.
