Portugal Reaffirms Commitment to Social Justice on World Day of Social Justice
On the annual observance of the World Day of Social Justice, Portugal renewed its commitment to advancing social development and promoting greater social justice as core components of its contribution to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The commemoration served as a reminder of the urgent need for collective action to address persistent global challenges, from poverty and discrimination to barriers in access to education, employment, and essential services. Portugal reiterated that progress on social justice is indispensable to delivering on the promise of the 2030 Agenda and its guiding principle of leaving no one behind.
As the international community reflects on this year’s World Day of Social Justice, Portugal reaffirmed its determination to work with partners across the UN system and beyond to foster a fairer, more inclusive, and rights‑based global future.
