International Day of Peace
The International Day of Peace is a global call to strengthen the values of peace, dialogue and solidarity among peoples and nations. Established by the United Nations, the day reminds us that peace is not only the absence of war, but also the presence of dignity, equality, opportunity and cooperation.
Under the theme “Invest in Peace: For Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day”, this year’s theme highlights the vital role that individuals and communities play in building more peaceful societies through everyday actions. Peace is created not only through international efforts, but also in classrooms, neighbourhoods and communities around the world.
On this day, we reaffirm the importance of promoting dialogue, mutual understanding and respect, and of investing in peace for everyone, everywhere, every day.
