5th Session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee
From August 5 to 14, 2025, leaders and experts from around the world, including Portugal, met for the 2nd part of the 5th Session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee.
The aim of this session was to agree on an international treaty to combat plastic pollution and protect the future of our planet. Although no agreement was reached, we reiterate Portugal’s commitment to continuing the negotiations.
