Portugal in the United Nations Environment Programme
Portugal attended the 12th Annual Subcommittee and the 171st Committee of Permanent Representatives of the United Nations Environment Program.
These meetings addressed programmatic and administrative matters of the Program and included discussions on the Medium-Term Strategy 2026-2029 and the latest report of its Executive Director. In this regard, Portugal’s interventions focused on the efficiency of UNEP’s management and results, with a view of the perseverance of environmental multilateralism, as well as ensuring the attention to matters in the areas of ocean and water.
