Launch of the third edition of the UN-Portugal Digital Fellowship
The Permanent Mission of Portugal to the United Nations, together with the United Nations University Operating Unit on Policy-Driven Electronic Governance (UNU-EGOV), hosted a breakfast briefing to launch the 3rd edition of the UN–Portugal Digital Fellowship.
Fully funded by the Portuguese Government, the Fellowship is an in-person capacity-building programme for senior public officials and diplomats from developing countries, focused on digital transformation and digital governance for sustainable development. Participants at this breakfast briefing discussed the programme’s objectives, structure and nomination process.
The Fellowship reflects the importance given by Portugal’s Development Cooperation Strategy to digital transformation as a means to achieve the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the SDGs, in particular for developing countries, by fostering prosperity, strengthening public institutions, and improving the quality of life of citizens.
